28.2. The leading German intellectuals of the 17th century gather in an inn to have some artistic philosophical discussions and stuff. Knowing Grass, this novel is full of absurd and ironic humor, but unless you actually know about the people and places it depicts, it's nearly unreadable, since the story and the characters aren't that lively or interesting to begin with. Since I'm not a professor of German culture history, I had hard time getting through this thing.

Very good and enjoyable doom metal record in its own right. If there's one big thing I don't love about with this album, then it has to be the fact that I have literally heard the same kind of stuff too many times before to count, so there's not that much originality to be found here.

Before listening to Oresteia I had never even heard of Lotus Thief. Afterwards I wish I had, because this is pretty damn beautiful and haunting piece of ambient-whatever-metal. Simplistic, yes, but sometimes less really IS more.

24.2. I don't know why they decided to start making such dark stuff for kids in the 80's. This thing is pure horror and I love it. The claymation effects by one and only Will Vinton are awesome.

24.2. "The Dark Age: Ten Myths About The Middle Ages" After some busy weeks finally had some time to read books again. This one is about all sorts of myths regarding the Middle Ages. Well written and very informative, one of the best books I have read on the subject matter. This thing reminded me of one thing that our professor once told us. Some student of his had asked about some strange details in some basic theories and the professor couldn't give him any answers. Then he decided to check where these details actually came from, and turned out they were from some now forgotten author from the 1800's that later scholars have just taken for granted and referenced each other without ever checking the original source.

These dudes should call it quits and retire already. Pretty much every album of theirs since early 80's has been average to good at best, but they still kept on going and going and going like a Duracell bunny. In 2020's there just doesn't seem to be anything creative or interesting left but a bare skeleton of a band refusing to stop whatever they are trying to accomplish. Legal at Last is not a good album, would't call it even mediocre, just plain bad.
