Night In The Woods
11.2. That was... something. I don't know how these people knew how my life would turn out in 2021 and managed to make a game out of it back in 2017, but the accuracy is scary. The writing is seriously great for the most part, Greg and Angus were this time my best friends. I was about to give this game full five stars until I made it to the end, which comes way too fast, is written hastily and ruins the fascinating plot entirely just right at the end. Like there's hours worth of building up and then they just explain the whole thing and then it suddenly ends. There was even a hint that what you are experiencing might just be a real mystery, coma dream or paranoid hallucination the main character got from a serious head injury, but they completely blew it. The ending kinda ruined it for me. But man, I do wonder how they got my life and personality nearly 100% right...

The Care Bears Movie
10.2. No, no, noooo!!!!! This film sucks. After Rock & Rule bit the dust, the studio went more mainstream and got their money back by producing this cancer into this world. Care Bears was actually more popular than Disney's Black Cauldron.

Rock & Rule (1983)
9.2. I have never enjoyed this film, the characters are very unlikable and the plot is kinda messy. The animation on the other hands is really damn good. Too bad MGM screwed these guys in the ass, otherwise this could have become a cult thing instead of some extremely obscure gem nobody knows.

Swimming to Sea
9.2. Grossly underrated and overlooked film. People often seem to think Padak is something of a Finding Nemo ripoff when in actuality there's nothing even close to that. Instead Padak is a grim and cynical story of fishes in a Chinese restaurant's water tank waiting for the inevitable. The plot might sound stupid at first, but there's actually real mature drama to be found here and the animation is at best excellent.

Leafie, a Hen Into the Wild
9.2. Heyyyy!!!! Who knew that South-Korean low budget children's animation could be this darn good. I mean really, not kidding here. These guys are actually veterans of the genre, they've participated in lots of big western animation productions and Disney films, so you know they're pretty much top of their game. While the cover might look like a carebears crap, it's actually a surprisingly mature story about motherhood with more grim and violent moments. Don't even bother with the western censored versions, just watch the original. The only thing better with the western one is the soundtrack.

Soul (2020)
8.2. Another year, another Disney flick. This time it's like an existential drama for adults or something. Here's my problem with it: it's still your frigging Disney flick and it's supposed to sell toys for kids, so naturally they couldn't take too much risks and like kill the main character for real even though the plot is building to that type of conclusion. This is the main problem with pretty much everything Disney ever does.

The Wolf House
5.2. This film is full of madness. I don't even know what genre it's supposed to be, surreal animated psychological fantasy horror or something. Whoever made this probably lives now in a mental asylum painting walls and ceilings with pictures of pigs. This is the kind of crazy shit animation was created for. The fractured and chaotic stream of consciousness reminds me of something Günter Grass would have written, like Dog Years. The animations style itself must have gotten the inspiration from Jan Švankmajer, I just can't think of anyone else making films this bonkers.

Wolfwalkers (2020)
4.2. I love Cartoon Saloon. They have some of the most talented storytellers of our time and their visual style, which just happens to draw an inspiration from Irish miniature paintings, is so unique and powerful there's nothing like it. In Wolfwalkers they don't just pay tribute to Princess Mononoke and the whole body of Richard Williams's work, but it's also one of the best animated films I have ever seen in my life. Totally worth the hype. Sadly this won't ever be any popular with the masses, no matter how awesome or well put together it is. But for an animation fan I can say this is will be one of the best films of the upcoming decade for sure. Too bad old Dick Williams passed away few years back, he would've been so proud of these guys.

Animaniacs
1.2. The original Animaniacs is one of the best cartoon shows ever and one of my favourites of all time. Not only did it pay tribute to all the classics, but it did innovate a helluva lot new stuff you rarely see anywhere ever. Most people outside the animation community won't probably ever understand how good it was. And so it pains to say this, but I think this reboot was a huge waste of a good opportunity to make it all happen again big time. Instead they decided to kick most of the classic characters from the show alongside their original creators and just emphasize every creative aspect of the original show that the producers thought were popular among the fans, like anime references, political jokes and even the musical parts. But here's the problem: the biggest part of the original were those characters, without them this thing feels so repetitive after few episodes. Second thing are the songs, which were the most the time just annoyance, but they're everywhere now in nearly every episode, none of them is that good or memorable. And then there's the political correctness and metoo crap, which make some of the original naughtier jokes impossible these days. Of course there are some more adult jokes, but you can clearly see they tried hard not to trigger anyone with likes of risky references to female sexual fantasies, furry fetishes etc. like they did in the original. You can't even have the nurse character, since radical feminism is a thing, instead they put in a song about equality. At the end of the day this reboot is more like a rehash, it gets very close to the original in spirit, but you can tell right away that something is missing. I have never felt the original was any boring, but this time I found myself constantly watching the clock. Many of the basic jokes I have seen already, and telling me that they are just recycling doesn't make them that funny.

Tekken 2
I had forgotten how much fun I used to have with this game. When PS1 was still new, everyone of my friends had theirs modded and this was the hottest shit everyone pirated. I was the only who had a legit copy of the, and even that eventually wore out and broke. That was one hell of a game, I still think it's better than the sequels.
