An Ottoman sultan wants to give a prince of Venice a beautiful book full of miniature paintings, but since Islam forbids painting people or animals a group of master painters work tirelessly in secrecy, not even knowing the real identities of each other. The story begins when one of the painters murders another and throws his body into a dried well.
One of the deepest novels I have ever read. It's like a mix of Dostoyevsky and some spiritual eastern film like Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring. Not only is it philosophical, but it also has religious mysticism, history and even a message about the position of modern Turkey as a mediator between the East and the West.
It's just beautiful.

Finally something new and creative from Disney. Sadly, it's still Disney so they couldn't take things to the absolute max, but it's still really damn funny show.

M.R. James was a master of traditional English ghost stories and these sure are quaint little short stories, but they might be a little too old-school for modern audience.

I didn't like it. There's so much things stuffed into this mess that it made my head hurt, very few of them are any creative. This time there's lots of political correct stuff too instead of just innocent fun, so be prepared to face the wrath of the internet.

I couldn't get any hold of this novel. I tried reading several others just to see if my exhausted mind is the problem since I read it late at night right before going to bed, but nope.

Fancy little ghost story about an intellectual loneliness of a man who blows a cursed whistle he found on a beach. The beginning is very slow and the ending very silly, but the amazing cinematography alone makes up for it.

“While out promoting Atomic Blonde in 2017, Charlize Theron mentioned Æon Flux and her ultimate disappointment with the movie. She remarked that while”

This cartoon is like Matrix before Matrix: full of crazy pseudo-philosophical stories, stylized action, quirky science fiction fantasy with hints of eroticism and fetishes... Aeon Flux has it all. I can't honestly think any mainstream viewers would get anything out of this, but for a cartoon fan this is a must see.

Very stylish and atmospheric little gothic horror film. It's a tale of a painter who ends up selling his loved one to a rich man who's said to be ugly as a devil. Later the beauty-obsessed student becomes a rich and famous painter and master of his craft, but after the memory of his deceased mentor brings back some old memories, he sees a vision of dread and horror of his loved one, now dead and united in death for eternity with her devilish owner and husband.

This is still a great documentary about a life of a bullshit millionaire and his eventual downfall and tragic death. Somewhere around early 2000's this man was a sensation but at the end of a day he was just a con man and more talk less substance kind of guy who sold more big words and false images than anything else.
