29.3. After watching some good old horror it's pretty easy to see all the influence Disney took from the genre and of course German Expressionism. Snow White is almost pure horror romanticism with evil witch that actually was inspired by Nosferatu, dark castles, skeletons, rats... Here's a funny way to watch this film: first check out Sunrise by Murnau and note all the tropes that film introduced to American cinema, then check this out and take a drink every time you find some of them. That stuff is written all over this film.

28.3. A great timeless classic. The idea of this film is so good it has actually become reality multiple times when a big game hunter wanted to up the ante and start hunting people.

27.3. The eroticism of this film was nothing short of scandalous back in they day, Island of Lost Souls was banned in many countries for decades. At the end of the day it's really good film, one of the best horror flicks of the 30's. And it's Paramount, not Universal, which might be the reason nobody knows it.

26.3. In many ways the Spanish version blows the original out of the water. The original had multiple editing errors, two whole butchered subplots and weird framing choices which were fixed here, plus everything else is just as good or more enhanced here.

25.3. One of my favourite supernatural thrillers of all time. The suspense is so well handled here that the messy middle part doesn't bother me at all.
