7.1. A satirical novel about a greedy lower aristocratic family in 19th century Russia. I would think that deeper understanding of the subject matter could help getting more out of this novel, but it's still pretty funny.

31.12. Recobbled Cut. The plot barely flows, but the story and people behind the film are so good they make for it. The art and the animation are superb on technical level alone. Here's a nice trivia for you: they asked Sean Connery to read one line, but Connery declined the offer because he thought it was some stupid joke. The line was: "I love you".

29.12. A short story by Leonid Andrejev. Andrejev's Judas is more like Richard III of Shakespeare, a very complex character who gets betrayed while trying to betray others. It's a very fascinating story, but very, very dry.
