Death of Artemio Cruz
24.12. This novel is like a literary version of Citizen Kane, it's all about flashbacks and complex circulating psychological narrative. It's even said that the author attempted to create his own written vision of visual cinematic language. Isn't that interesting or frigging what? This isn't an easy and quick read, though. You should at least be aware of this stuff before checking it out. I wasn't at first, and it was difficult to follow.

24.12. The mother and father of all epic historical novels and my grand christmas project. First time I attempted to read this I had to stop before the first half was done, but now I made it to the end and it was great. Had I known that the best parts actually begin after the first 2 books (out of 4) I would probably had read this one way sooner. Totally worth it.

23.12. Now THAT'S what I'm talking about: an adult horror fantasy with sex, violence and a "superhero". Spawn butchers all the pussy MCU Disney kids' films without mercy, this thing actually has some balls.

Los pasos perdidos
23.12. A rich elitist artist ends up wandering in a jungle with bunch of other people. While they try to find their way through the darkness of the forest and the wonders it hides beneath the mysterious surface, the man thinks about his inner world. What an interesting novel, very rich in both meaning and depth. Carpentier was clearly above most other writers of his time.

Eek!stravaganza
22.12. There's nothing like bingewatching some old cartoon from the good old 90's. I don't even know if there's a legit way to watch this one other than some crappy bootlegs, but what the heck it's fun. Eek the cat is the most naive, innocent and loving little creature that always ends up facing the wrath of the cruel world around him. Basically it's a slapstick comedy where Eek always tries to help someone and only gets punished for it, the humor is so over the top mean and cynical it's really funny. I just love Bill Kopp as Eek, that voice fits in like a glove.

Jim Steinman
Jim was something of an oddball genius of popular music: on the other hand he was a megalomaniac with brilliant ear for catchy melodies, but at the same time everything he did had this sense of over the top cartoony self-irony that made you either love him or hate him. I did love his music and still do. Sadly, though, the man couldn't really sing, so he was mainly a songwriter, producer and a pianist for other artists. [youtube id=lcOxhH8N3Bo]

Bucky O
19.12. I think Bucky O'Hare is an overrated show among retro fans. Yes, it's your very typical Star Wars -inspired furry show from the early 90's, but that's it. Some of the characters (not the annoying human kid) are slightly memorable and the cynical humor is on the money, but the character animation itself is at times very bad.

Doña Barbara
18.12. A legendary novel that turned out to be surprisingly superficial and boring. Maybe it's just historically significant and not that great to begin with, I think.

South Park: Post COVID - The Return of COVID
16.12. Slightly better than the first one, but still no cookie. Cartman's redemption arc was the closest thing this ever got to being good.
