I like the basic idea of Salvation, but the film itself sucks balls big time, oh my god. It's so sterile and boring, even the few short flashbacks seen in the first films had more feeling and atmosphere than this thing.

It's been 15 years since I first saw this mess and it still sucks the big one. It's like a Mount Everest of bad choices from the very beginning: the humor sucks, the characters suck, the ending sucks, the special effects suck, the female John Connor sucks, the villain sucks, but the action is kinda cool.

This cartoon was based on a British comic book, so people wanting to see another bombastic in-your-face American cartoon are surely going to hate a calm and smart animation like this.
Rupert has way more depth and brains than most of its Western contemporaries at the time. None of the episodes feel patronising at all, all the characters have more feelings and flaws than just the happy face and the writing feels way more fleshed out and genuine than usual. Rupert might be a nice guy, but he also has his limits and might get frustrated and angry, usually for good understandable reasons.
Get this: there's adventure stories without villains or high octane action and they still feel very satisfying, lots of episode even have nice universal themes everyone could enjoy.

“Not everybody wants to murder that character who's, you know, the nice kid.ย Here's what Wikipedia says about the main character:ย "Rupert Bear is a c”

Blazing Dragons is like Shrek, but the style of the humor is closer to Monty Python and A Fish Called Wanda. The voice cast alone consists of some of the greatest actors of the time, the writing is especially clever and full of surprises plus finally a main character that's both funny, clever and very likeable. Sadly, though, this game is also very short.

This used to be one of my favourite shows growing up. Nowadays... let's just say the novelty has worn off and I can see many flaws in Blazing Dragons. The premise is all about parodying the Middle Ages and the legend King Arthur Monty Python -style, Blazing Dragons is all about great characters and incredibly funny worldbuilding, but I think where the thing falls apart is the writing itself. The original game was very British, but this show was made in Canada and France, so lots of nuance and finer details were lost in translation.
What the heck, I still love princess Flame, she's simply one of the best female characters ever. She views men and especially knights as morons and many times fixes thing herself. The best episode is the one where she forms her own feminine chivalric order which solves all the problems of the world simply by talking. That's the kind of creative humor I wanted from this show as an adult.
