The story of Christy Brown is a stuff of legends. He suffered a brain damage during birth and left handicapped for life. Christy could only use his left foot normally, so he started painting and writing with it. And Christy was a huge success, he became a celebrated artist and culture personality. Talk about an inspiring story.

A historically significant documentary, even groundbreaking at the time it was filmed. This doc was supposed to be about the British conquest of the South Pole, but ended up showing a tragedy of the men sacrificing their lives for their expedition. The historical value of this document wasn't fully understood until recently, maybe because history hates failures.

Most people probably haven't heard of Palmer Luckey, but let me tell you: he's the man. Palmer was and is a tech wiz kid who basically created a big portion of the whole VR business we're talking about these days. He made billions of dollars before he was even 30.
But wait, there's more: Palmer is a kind of guy does and says whatever he wants, so naturally this kid was bullied and kicked off his own business. What happened then? Palmer created another enterprise and made it even bigger success, and just because he can Palmer usually publicly embarrasses his bullies whenever he gets a chance. They absolutely deserved what they got.
Palmer is the man.

Had to watch this one again just so I could write more in-depth about it's symbolism. A great film, one of the best.

Demons is a heavy, long deep story and that's why it's so difficult and takes time to read. It's also the most ideological of all Dostoyevsky's novels. I think it's my least favourite of his great masterpieces.

I am terribly sorry, I didn't like this film at all. The art looks like a crappy ps2 game, the plot is full of cliches and the so called "personality" is very superficial when you really think about it. Even the hairstyles are more "gen Z" cliche than anything else. Then there's all the distracting in your face politically correct stuff, they didn't hold anything back and it's neither smart nor subtle. I don't want to watch stuff like this

Rasputin was a mystical charismatic figure from the early 20th century Russia. He had a reputation as a deviant and a drunkard, but as far as I'm aware, it's not really sure how much of his bad reputation is just gossip and attempt at character assassination. He was hated and envied by many, at the end he was shot multiple times by local aristocrats.
It's the mysticism surrounding his life and persona I find highly intriguing and inspiring. Maybe he was just a genuine religious man with a bad habit of drinking too much and seducing young women. You have to remember it's Russia we're talking about, not puritan America, so the local everyday culture is somewhat different.
