Spawn is way better than I remembered. I mean the main problem with anything written by McFarlane is usually the fact, that his stories don't seem to go anywhere but instead they're mostly just a mix of great sense of style, world building and atmosphere. It's not that big of a problem here, I think, if you could even call it a problem at all.

Despite being a very obscure name for most people, Ron Jarzombek has been widely regarded as one of the most influential guitar players in more technical side of metal music. His signature augmented style draws heavily from fusion jazz and likes of Allan Holdsworth, and combining all of this with metal tone was completely unheard at the time and extremely rarely even these days. Being good at playing an instrument is one thing, but being also creative and completely original takes it to a whole new level.

This is a brilliant jazz thrash album, something you seldom hear anyone ever playing. It's Ron Jarzombek doing the guitars, so you know it's full of Allan Holdsworth worship.

This is more conventional Alan Moore. Some love it and that's all ok by me, but I prefer all the psychedelic and esoteric stuff.

Pretty average comedic cop film from the 80's. I know this is a remake of a classic police series, but I could've lived without snarky Tom Hanks. Dan Aykroyd as a serious stone-faced cop was hilarious, though.

This is incredibly creative superhero comic. It's also very typical Alan Moore in sense that it's psychedelic and little all over the place. The main lines of the story are brilliant, masterful work. That man has some crazy imagination. I do not envy artists who have to visualize Alan Moore, that's whole another challenge for a human mind.

Thomas Pynchon has remained near complete mystery: he doesn't do interviews or show his face publicly, so basically we don't know anything about him outside his art and this one picture. As an author Pynchon is one of the greatest and most divisive figures ever. They say Pynchon has been nominated many times for the most important literary awards, including Nobel prize, but due to the divisive opinions he has rarely won many of them. Pynchon's books are challenging as they come, but also extremely unique and supremely creative. If post-modernism is your thing as it is mine, then you'll probably understand why this man is on my list.

There's nothing creative about Riot these days, but goddamn they're my favourite band and they always make me happy. At least they know their audience and deliver them what they want. Bite me, haters.
